Guidance on Heat Related Early Release

The District examines several data points when determining when to release K-12 district students early.

 

This decision is driven by the temperatures affecting our 2 elementary buildings, Lincoln and Richardson due to the lack of air conditioning in both buildings.

 

FMMS and FMHS are air conditioned; however, due to the square miles our district covers, we are unable to release levels independently due to transportation.

 

Data points that are reviewed include 3-4 weather sources reporting outside temperatures, heat index, wind, humidity, overnight temperatures, as well as indoor temperatures at both buildings.
